Patch Notes: Freecell v1.1.0
Patch Notes: Freecell v1.1.0
In this update to Freecell, we wanted to make this game easier for players new to the game. At the same time, we tried to keep changes minimal to not be too jarring to seasoned players, and added quality of life features for both desktop and mobile users.

Changelist:
Game Updates:
- Improved hints to make them more useful
- Previously all movable cards would highlight yellow if there was a free cell open. Now, only cards that can move to another stack are highlighted.
- Display “goal” cards, highlighted green, that are the next cards that need to go to the foundation
- Internal testing showed these are extremely beneficial to completing the game, especially new players. Use them as a guide to formulate a plan to solve the board, instead of making random moves.
- Updated the setting that disables background animation to also disable fireworks and other distracting effects
- Add explanation for how time bonus is calculated in How to Play and the Rules Page
- Performance improvements to make the game run better on older devices
- Desktop Changes:
- New layout with foundation and freecells at the top, which should be familiar to players who have played other versions of freecell
- Added keyboard controls for Undo and Foundation button
More Updates:
- Changes to standard mode (rename “Classic” -> “Standard”)
- Removed the extra cells from standard mode, making it like “Classic”. – This is to help fix the confusing scoring that the old extra cells had, and make the game more familiar for experienced freecell players.
- Timer increased from 5 minutes to 8 minutes to give you more time to solve the harder boards
- New Beginner Blitz Mode
- Fewer cards for faster and easier solves
